Architectural Typologies
At the heart of the discipline is the study of architectural history through the critical approach towards methods of systematization and analysis of architectural objects. The course aims to connect spatial structures from different historical eras with social processes and the environment, applying these insights to modern practice. Anna Pomazanna's course for the Kharkiv School of Architecture aspires to contextualize Ukrainian architecture within the global architectural framework.
Design Studios
The studios provide students with practical design skills and opportunities for experimentation. In the first year, Studio House focused on sustainable approaches to life outside the city and ecological production methods for single-family households. The third-year Studio City explored the identities and development strategies for the Pidzamche area in Lviv. The master's studio, Typologies of Regeneration, within the M-ARCH-T program at TU Berlin, where Anna led three project groups, addressed the regeneration of natural landscapes.
Workshops
Working intensively on ideas within a real-world context not only fosters student growth but can lead to tangible changes in reality. At the Build Back Better international workshop, students engaged with the context of the city of Dnipro on four different levels: Home, Microdistrict, City, and River. As part of this program, Anna developed and taught the Microdistrict Studio and curated the workshop's final exhibition. She also has tutoring experience from the Urban Design Hackathon at the Bauhaus University in Weimar.
